A Veterinarys Cleanroom is a clean air environment and has the function of preventing air particulates of a certain size from entering. The cleanroom is used to filter polluted air as per the requirements of certain industries such as pharmaceuticals, E-liquids, healthcare facilities, as well as science and technology.
Example of such pollutants that can be harmful to research and production include aerosol particles, chemical vapours, microorganisms, and fibrous materials and so many others. We have Veterinarys Modular Cleanrooms that satisfy the requirements of the international organisation for standardisation (ISO) 14644-1: 2015.
Veterinarys Modular Cleanrooms that fall within the standard of the ISO 14644-1:2015 are differentiated by classifications of class 1-9. Cleanrooms can vary between different classifications when the size and level of air particulates change. Cleanrooms that fall in Class 1 (which is the greatest in the classification) are tested for the smallest air pollutant size and lowest frequency while Class 9 cleanrooms are tested for a larger air particulate size range and higher frequency.
Particle counters are used to gauge the Particles Per Cubic Metre (PPCMM) of Veterinarys Modular Cleanrooms to determine their classification. The PPCM of an ISO class 9 Cleanroom is equivalent to atmospheric air (similar to the air of the suburbs) with the removal of much larger particles >5 microns being analysed for assurance of process.
A Class 1 Cleanroom will focus on much smaller air particulates of sizes >0.1 microns and >0.2 microns resulting in a much cleaner air enclosure. This is an example of the requirement in using particle counters.
A Class 7 Cleanroom will be tested for a particulate size of > 0.5 microns with a maximum particle count of 352,000. If this test exceeds the maximum number, the Veterinarys Cleanroom will need to be modified and retested to meet the classification.
Contamination-Frеe Production
Veterinarys Modular Cleanrooms achieve the clean air quality by use of air filtration HEPA/ULPA technology. These filters are scientifically proven to reduce the size and quantity of air particulates entering a cleanroom. The cleanroom gains a positive pressure area when Filter Fan Units (FFUs) process unfiltered air that passes through it. It is this positive pressure that sustains the clean air conditions preventing the backflow of contaminated air into the Clean air space through exhaust openings.
The type of Veterinarys Cleanroom mentioned earlier sees to contamination-free production because only air that goes through the filtration unit is allowed to enter the internal area.
Modular Cleanroom Benefits
- Modular Construction
- Quick Assembly Time
- Versatility
- Reconfiguration
- Airflow Control
- Inexpensive Modifications
The Veterinarys Cleanroom mechanism will mitigate the possibility of product contamination. It’s also the first stage of putting a clean air production area in place. Adopting preventative measures that will prevent personnel from introducing particulates into the cleanroom is the next step to take. This introduction of contaminants can be prevented by the proper use of Cleanroom PPE such as gowning, hair nets and overshoes. This will reduce fibres and potential contaminants from entering the Veterinarys Cleanroom and interfering with Production/ research. Veterinarys Cleanroom operators must undergo training in the reduction of contamination to prevent the introduction of microbial/foreign materials in to the production area.

Industry Standards
The use of a Cleanroom is crucial for any industry that requires their processes to have a reduced particulate occurrence to avoid the microbial spoiling and/or contamination of goods.
The use of air filtration in keeping out a certain number of air particulates makes the Cleanroom vital for maintaining a clean air space. Food production, semiconductor production, science and technology, medical devices manufacturing, as well as electronics production are some of the industries where Cleanrooms are used.
At Saakvee, we are here to make sure you invest in the most suitable design for your application purposes. If you are unsure of the standard of Veterinarys Cleanroom required for your industry we can guide you in the right direction.
We design and build all our Veterinarys Modular Cleanrooms to comply to the ISO 14644-1: 2015 standard. These Cleanrooms range between ISO 1 and 9 classifications. The size and quantity of air particulates in a Cleanroom will determine the class it belongs to. Cleanrooms that fall into ISO 1, which is the highest classification, will be tested for the lowest quantity and sizes of air particulates whereas those that fall into ISO 9, being the least, will be evaluated for the highest quantity and sizes of pollutants entering the clean air area.
To the determine the class of a Modular Cleanroom, particle counters are used to measure the size and quantity of particulates in Particles Per Cubic Metres (PPCM). The use of particle counters accounts for the number and size of air particulates. ISO 1 rated cleanrooms are evaluated for the extraction of small air particulates >0.1 microns and >0.2 microns whereas an ISO 9 cleanroom, which has a similar PPCM to suburban air, will be tested for the removal of larger air contaminants >5 microns.

Containment Solutions
Containment technologies are needed in cases where there are dangerous substances emanating from the cleanroom that require removal from the air exiting the production area into the external environment. Veterinarys Modular Cleanrooms can be made to keep production safe by introducing contamination-free air into the work space and contain hazardous materials that come about during production through the use of ULPA, HEPA, or Carbon filters. At Saakvee, we can provide the solution to your containment needs preventing the exposure of hazardous chemicals to the outside atmosphere with the aim to help you become ever more compliant with your regulators.
Each containment solution we provide is unique as not two hazardous materials are the same and vary on quantities dependent on the use. This indicates that containment level can vary from customer to customer. We’ll cooperate with you to figure out the right containment plan for you.
Airflow And Filtration
Our Cleanrooms are designed to be compliant to the specified ISO 14644-1:2015 grading. With this in mind, we take into consideration the level of air filtration required and the end function of the cleanroom. The level of air filtration required is determined by the air changes per hour (ACH), this determines how many Filter Fan Units are to be used in the cleanroom. What we also determine by the strategic positioning of the FFUs and exhausts is the flow of air around the cleanroom. This can mean the difference between a uni-directional (laminar flow) and a non-unidirectional (turbulent flow) airflow around a cleanroom, potentially leading to a contaminated product. With this in mind, we can greatly increase the number of ACH and control the air flow within the cleanroom.
Filtration of air is controlled by our ultra-quiet, high-efficiency filtration modules. These filtration modules automatically compensate for a build-up of dust and other materials that occur over time within a HEPA/ULPA filter increasing the fan speed to reach the set flow rate. This increases the life of the filter, reducing cost overtime for the end user.
